Facing The Difficulties

Facing The difficulties 2 Karina's Thought

I never get bored talking about the firmness faith in the face of all the difficulties of life. I hope the readers will also not get bored reading it. Almost every day I receive an email from many friends and others those talks about the life’s problem that increasingly difficult day by day.

Why do we have to experiencing suffering and hard times? It may be a question of most people, including among believers as well. There are many among us who have wrong concept and think that following Jesus means totally free from suffering and difficulties. That’s why there are people who have their own motivations for worship. It is not wrong to ask God’s help, and God Himself promises so many blessings, miracles and He help to anyone who cries out to Him in Christ. But we cannot deny that somehow there are times where we have to go through difficult situations, full of painful thorns. Whether God like to torture us any time?  Of course not like that. God is never pleased to see His children suffered. If He pleased, He did not bother to sacrifice His Son, to ensure our salvation.

When we are facing so many difficult situation and should experiencing suffering and hard times, let’s take a look at how the pressures faced by believers who can be so terrible in many parts of the world. Repressive forms even of torture to assassination experienced some of us from time to time.  Furthermore, we can see there are so many great figures in the Bible who experienced terrible suffering. I am not quite sure the suffering that we experience today is as daunting as they were suffering at the time. Let we take a look to James.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4

Whether James was in good condition when writing this? No. He had seen with his own eyes how terrible persecution and cruel tortures to death meted out to the people who maintain their faith in Christ, including also himself. James proved his obedience even unto death. We see James murdered by Herod orders with a sword.”He had James, the brother of John, put to death with the sword.” (Acts 12:2) But the fact, from James we can see the call of God about how we should address the various trials. James urges all believers to face all trials and tests with joy, faith and optimisms. James just as we are, never expect the hard times, but he reminds us not to lose a handle and keep addressing the difficult conditions with a joyful heart attitude.

Why? Because in the tough times, whether it relates to financial difficulties, physical and psychological health problems, relationships, careers or jobs, education, etc, when we deal with it all by faith ,then it becomes a great opportunity for us to be able to be humans with the mature and adult spiritual. Any testing that we face will produce perseverance and will bear the ripe fruit. That is why it is important for us to respond properly the difficult situations that are present in our lives. Above all of it, we must know that in such any circumstances God never leaves us.  Faithfully He continued to be with us, even in the darkest circumstances. Psalm said, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”(Psalm 23:4)  No matter how serious the problems we face, the consolation of God always provided for us.

There is a time for everything in this world. The Bible declares it; there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. (Ecclesiastes 3:1) includes a time to weep, and a time to laugh, a time to mourn, and a time to dance.” (Verse 4) At the moment we are faced with a time to weep and mourn, it does not mean God is torturing us. At a time like that, indeed we can learn a lot about life. There are many benefits that will be very useful for our future that will be in vain if we miss out only with complaints, excessive self-pity or despair. There is an opportunity to have a more mature spiritually when we are allowed to be in an uncomfortable situation. While we still are in a very difficult situation, remains thankful and let God continue to fill your heart with true joy, so when that the time to laugh and dance comes we will be picking the ripe fruit later. We also should to remember God’s promise to us, “blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12

So my dear brother and sister in Christ, by persevering in a difficult situation and filled with trials, the problem of life is getting tough day by day; we will be crowned by crown of life. Persevere and endure when we are facing difficult situation is not easy. Not as easy as flipping a newspaper page. But if we always rely on the power of God, put our faith and trust in the presence of God, there will always incredible strength that allows us to endure. Take every problems, difficulties, and trials into our prayer. Ask the Lord so that we are always given the strength, wisdom, unwavering faith, and give thanks in all circumstances. Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5. Amen.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.  For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; Isaiah 43:2-3

  1. Sometimes our suffering is a result of someone else’s free will and sin. That is when we as Christians call upon our Father to rescue us. As I type this we are in a situation that was caused by someone’s else’s sin. However, God has showed up. Not simply because I go to church or call myself a Christian. He showed up because I called Him for help and praised His name even though I was uncertain. The problems will come – but so will our Father when we ask. Great post!

    • Hi there
Thank you so much for your great comment. Your comment will be my pondering and great lesson for my spiritual growth. Thank you so much for kindness, my sister in Christ. Blessings.

  2. @Karina: Thank you! I find that adversity, hard-times, and suffering is not only the enemy testing our faith, but God knowing our heart and is using it to strengthen our faith. We will love God more and we will become stronger in all things as long as we remain strong in faith in God and believe in God through it all – giving the enemy no credence. Part of denying the enemy and causing him to flee. Thanking God for adversity and hard times is praising God through it all, and is defeating the enemy. It is all for God’s glory alone and He is victorious and can never fail, thereby, neither can any Christian. Also, He does not put anything before us that we are not able to handle, for He is our strength. God is not adversity, suffering, sickness or dis(ease), et al – the enemy is. When we recognize that it is the devil being allowed to do these things, and that God is the power source and the power behind all things (and that Satan does not have any power but to try to ‘make you think..”- then we will being to know not to believe such things, which then will cause the manifestation of them in our life. All Satan can say is “make him think that he is sick” or “make them think that they are impoverished”..knowing that man will only want to believe the physical and that the body only wants to believe what it feels in the physical, when in fact we are to walk in the spirit, live in the spirit and forget that it is only the spirit that is truth and nothing of the physical – which is the devil’s playground. We must rebuke such things against God and not be as Eve – who believed the lies of Satan, thus conceived a lie – thereby, God manifesting the seed of Cain (the devil). Therefore, when it begins to occur in my life, I just speak out that the “Devil is a liar, I can do all things through Christs who strengthens me, I am not fighting for victory, but from victory, and Jesus Christ is my victory!” I know for a FACT that all God says is “yes and Amen” – therefore, after speaking His Word and power on what I need done, I end the prayer “In Jesus’ Name”, with Him being my advocate, and knowing that in speaking His name, what is needed can NOT be ignored …thereby, knowing it is done. Now, I must walk in faith from then on out—-knowing and believing it is done, until the Lord walks me to the point in time in the physical realm to where I am able to see and touch my blessing (manifested prayer) with my physical senses – thus walking by faith and not by sight. I thank God through it all, I praise and bless God through it all – knowing that faith is the currency for the Kingdom of God and praise is what changes my circumstances. Also, what has assisted me is praying and asking God ‘what is my lesson Lord?”….but do not ask, if you do not want to know. Because if a person does not change after asking God – then they will experience the consequences of that too. 😦

  3. Our culture views difficulties as negative; the goal is to reduce hard times and live easy, peaceful lives. But we mature and grow through adversity. True victory is when we are able to have joy and peace in any circumstance. Life may not be easy, but God promises to help us carry the burden if we turn to him. I love these verses…such a wonderful encouragement for the hard times. Thank you 🙂

    • Hi there 🙂 thank you so much for your great and lovely comment. Yes you definitely so true. God promises to help us carry our burdens if we always rely on God strength and will. Blessings on your day.

  4. Karina, I enjoyed reading your “FACING THE DIFFICULTIES” very much, and the comments as well. God is so good. I praise him for inspiring the words that is written. His will is to set all captives free, so each of us can truly walk in total victory. 🙂

  5. While i am reading your article, I am reminded of the words of the proverb 24:16 “for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again…”
The righteous man may fall, may have problems, but God guarantees that the righteous will rise again.
The big question is whether the problems that come caused carrying the cross and a test of faith like Job, or the problem was caused by sin we did.
But… whatever it is, the good news is as you wrote “Above all, we must know that in such any circumstances God never leaves us”
God is always love, be with, and able to wear any of our situation (even if it is due to our fault) and turn it for our good.
I like your topic in here. You have done very well, Karina. I believe that your writing strengthen a lot of people who are mired in the current problems (included me), and the Holy Spirit touching them while they are reading. God bless you.

  7. Well said, Karina! No one enjoys strife…however, it is necessary to help us mature in the faith. And God never leaves us out there all alone to face our trials. Growing in Him is a lifetime process…

  8. I have found that my trials bring me to a point of weakness which helps me to stop relying on myself and turn to God instead. It is then that I can see Him more clearly and feel His presence more fully. There is a special sweetness to this that hard to fully describe.

I am writing what I’m learning in this regard on my blog if you would like to check it out.
