I am Thanking you, God

Hello my beloved readers, I just want to say “Happy Thanksgiving” to all of my faithful readers and follower.  Allow me to celebrate Thanksgiving Day with a poem. I hope and pray this poem can be a reminder for us to always giving thanks to our beloved God.

Dear God:

I want to thank you for what you have already done

I am not going to wait until I see results, or receive rewards;

I am thanking you right now.

I am not going to wait until I feel better or things look better;

I am thanking you right now.

I am not going to wait until people say they are sorry or until they stop talking about me;

I am thanking you right now.

I am not going to wait until the pain in my body disappears;

I am thanking you right now.

I am not going to wait until my financial situation improves;

I am thanking you right now.

I am not going to wait until the children are asleep and the house is quiet;

I am thanking you right now.

I am not going to wait until I get promoted at work or until I get the job;

I am thanking you right now.

I am not going to wait until I understand every experience in my life that has caused me pain or grief;

I am thanking you right now.

I am not going to wait until the journey gets easier or the challenges are removed;

I am thanking you right now.

I am thanking you because I am alive

I am thanking you because I made it through the day’s difficulties.

I am tanking you because I have walked around the obstacles.

I am thanking you because I have the ability and the opportunity to more and do better.

I am thanking you because FATHER, YOU haven’t given up on me.

1 Chronicles 16:34: “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Psalm 28:7: “The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”

Psalm 69:30: “I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving.”

  1. Dear Karina, that is a beautiful poem! Thank you so much for sharing it. It is right that you say we need not wait for things to get better to be thankful. One of my life sayings is “It could always be worse.” I say that facetiously, sometimes, but it is true. I love your spirit. May God bless you today, and Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. Happy Thanksgiving, Karina. Thank you for a wonderful reminder of all we have to be thankful for, how to apply the correct spiritual attitude, and most of all for our Lord Jesus who blesses us abundantly. Blessings to you.

  3. I am just reading this two days after Thanksgiving. But I am so moved by your poem. We have so much to be thankful for every day, don’t we? Love you! And I thanked God for you today.

  4. Wonderfully said! Thank you for this reminder to be grateful for life and it’s inconsistencies. The thankfulness we give Him in spite of these trials our Father in Heaven gives us assurance it won’t always be. His peace surrounds us to forge ahead.

    I’m thankful for you and your sage insight. Many blessings to you and the family! Pray your day was just as beautiful.

  5. Reblogged this on FOR THE LOVE OF GOD and commented:
    My dear Sister who I have been following for a while now and who has been following me posted this around last Thanksgiving and while I was looking for something on “Giving Thanks,” I found this wonderful post of hers!

    The Apostle Paul told us in 1 Thessalonians, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” – 5:16-18.”

    In EVERYTHING give thanks. Even if things don’t seem so pleasant, remember our Lord is powerful enough and sovereign enough to work EVERYTHING out for our best and our benefit according to His will! (Romans 8:28). So enjoy this prose to giving thanks and be blessed. Don’t forget to visit her site as well for she has a LOT of great inspiring and encouraging posts!

  6. This post is particularly appropriate as the panic surrounding the coronavirus spreads. As Christians, we should recall that all things work together for good for those who love God and are called to His purpose. God alone knows how long we will live — with or without the coronavirus. This then is an opportunity to witness to non-believers, and praise Him in the storm. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCpP0mFD9F0

    May He keep His hand of protection over you, Karina. ❤

    • Dear sister Anna
      Thank you very much for your wonderful thought, also for the YouTube link. I really understand people in this world got terrible panic related with Covid-19, but in my mind,this pandemic will not make our lives end. Precisely, our fear and worry will make us worst. Yes that is true we have to take prevention action against the virus but the most important thing we have to do is totally surrender our fear and worries to God alone. Thank you very much for this useful discussion, sister Anna. May God also protect you and your loved ones. God Bless.

  7. My grateful respects to our Preachers and Teachers (Gurus) who help us remove our ignorance and take us from darkness to light. All the religious texts of all religions help us give us knowledge for our enlightenment, all these are our GURUS in real sense of terms. Happy Guru Purinima. Regards.

  10. I’m too late for Happy TG, so Happy Advent season, Karina!
    You poem is very inspiring and is so faithful and true. I thank you for it and also for “liking” every post I publish. Having such a high quality Christian evangelist writer “like” my humble writing is most encouraging and you help me continue in my own efforts to proclaim Jesus as Highest Lord. Lots of love to you, beloved sister in Christ Jesus!

  11. I read through this one again, yesterday, as it always appears at the top of your feed (which I believe to be appropriate). Such wonderful thoughts. They inspired my daily gratitude, yesterday.
