SOMEONE CARES

SOMEONE CARES -Karina's thought

In this life, when we are experiencing the struggles that caused by so much big problems, sometimes we feel that God is not as concerned with our problems and struggles. We feel that He left us facing the struggle alone.  A few weeks ago one of my good friends from Thailand shared her life problems and there were many questions: “God why you let this happen? Why did you leave me to face all of this alone?  Where are you, God?” When I am under pressure of the hard problems, does that mean God was sound asleep and unguarded to keep me? Where is God when the load of problems was so heavy pressing my life?

I remembered a story of a missionary, George Lacy. George Lacy was a public school teacher when he and his wife Minnie, decided to take their vocational skills to the mission field. In 1903, they and their five children journeyed to Saltillo, Mexico to organize and operate a school for girls, the Madero Institute. Joy turned to sorrow in December, 1904, when a daughter fell ill with Scarlet fever. She died so quickly and doctors weren’t able to diagnose her illness. Shortly after that, a son also died. In the midst of their sadness and desperation Mrs. Lacy, by the train brought the three oldest children back to Arkansas. But it turns out the sorrow still whack them. Before Mrs. Lacy arrived home, their three remaining children also died because of the fever. In the Lacy’s letter to the Foreign Mission Board, he was describing and uttering the deepest sorrow and despair. In his letter, he wrote: “Sometimes it seems more than we can bear”

Maybe this time there are people around us or even ourselves are experiencing the same problem as George lacy and my friend experienced and we feels seems more than we can bear. We cry out to God with many questions, sometimes even in frustration and anger. When the answers of why and why aren’t apparent, we often feels like He isn’t there, or isn’t listening. We feel that we are alone and in the midst of solitude we ask where God’s position in the midst of our struggles is. These questions does not arise only in us, but some biblical figures were had the same question. David, for an example, let’s see what he said: “Why do You stand afar of, O Lord? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble” (Psalm 10:1) “don’t be silent to me…” (Psalm 28:1)  “give ear to my prayer, O God, And do not hide yourself…” (Psalm 55:1)

In the today’s world that fraught with hardship led many people begin to lose of direction, begin to doubt the God’s existence and His ability to bring us out from the dark season. Then quickly we conclude that God is no longer love and cares to His children. Is it true that God doesn’t care anymore? Is it true that God is not be able to lift us up out from the troubles? The answer is no! God is able! There is nothing impossible before Him and He can do any miracles to those who believe in Him. God actually always cares and never remiss in caring us. The Bible clearly says:

Behold, He who keeps Israel. Shall neither slumber nor sleep. (Psalm 121:4)

What is the proof that God still cares and loves us? Truthfully, there are so many proofs that God really loves us and still care to each of His children. I take one proof that became the biggest proof of His cares and loves. It is written in the book of John,

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Because of our sin Jesus willing to died on the cross to redeem all of our sins. This was the greatest work of God for us as a proof that He really cares and loves us. I think there is no one in this world willing to die solely to save us from our sins. But Jesus did it! Why He did it all?  Just Because He cares. Why He cares?  He cares because He really loves us! Then do we still thinking that God doesn’t care?!

Let’s back to the George Lacy’s story. They finally decided to return to Mexico, a place where they experienced the deepest sorrow and despair. After forty-six years in Mexico, their mission ended up and their noble work made so many children have touched the love of Christ. The same love that was able sustains them when they were in the deepest trials.  I am pondering one thing. Why they were able to get through the big storms of life and were able to continue their mission for more than 40 years? The answer is, it wasn’t purely of their own strength. It was because God cares and loves them and it was the proof of God’s promise that “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

My beloved friends, this evening let me encourage all of us when we are in the midst of hard season, when we are pressured with so much big problems, when we have to bear so much sorrow , and it all seems more than we can bear, let’s us stop thinking that God doesn’t loves us and doesn’t cares anymore. Actually, God is still there watching and protecting us. He is not silent, though the sound of His voice may be hard to discern and the touch of His hand may not be easily felt. He longs to continue to bless us, even promising position as heirs of the Kingdom to all the people who love Him as written:

Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? (James 2:5)

We must know and realize that in God there is hope that never goes out and He will strengthen us if we hope in God.

Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the Lord.(Psalm 31:24)

God’s promises will not be in vain. God will never break His promises. Trust it earnestly.

My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips. (Psalm 89:34)

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (II Peter 3:9)

Any hard problems and trials may come but please believe that God will never leave us and He still cares because He really loves us. Was written in the bible that:

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand. (Psalm 37:23-24)

Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

(Psalm 55:22)

When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.  My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me. (Psalm 63:6-8)

And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”(Deuteronomy 31: 8)

My dear friend, I will end this post with an encouraging song that really encourage, strengthen, comfort me, and always remind me that there is someone cares to us. God still cares to us. My beloved foster sister Sandra sung this beautiful song and I love to share with all of you this evening. I hope and pray that this song could encourage and bless all of us. Amen.

SOMEONE CARES

Someone cares and always will
the world forgets you but god loves you still
you cannot go beyond His love no matter what your guilty of
He always loves you, he really loves you

He knows your pain and all your loneliness
His watchful eyes know every path you’ve made
you cannot go beyond His love no matter what your guilty of
He will do miracle for you right here, right now

His love is tender to mend a broken heart
cast down your worries and He will set you free
He’s more than able to make your life anew
someone cares, Jesus cares for you

  3. Well sis, we were kind of thinking along the same lines today! I did a post on leaning on the strength and peace of our Lord in times of depression and anxiety which many people feel during the holidays. (Great minds think alike…:).

I’m so glad you found the time to post such an interesting story!! We do have the most strength to come through our trials when we lean on our Redeemer! Have a great evening, Karin, and keep posting as you can!

  6. A wrong assumption that some have Karina is that God willingly let Jesus suffer, it grieved Him greatly but there was no other way to Redeem us and Jesus knew this too, He could have chosen not to die burdened down with our sin which He knew would separate Him from His beloved Father for the first time in His Life both on earth and in Eternity but He Loved His Father and us greatly and knew it would break His Fathers heart to be Eternally separated from us, which is what sin does and knowing we would also suffer Eternally, He willingly said; “Father your will be done” which was to save us…..And so we who are in Christ Jesus are set free and yes we can almost see Eternity.

Lamentations 3: 33 For God doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

God also does nor willingly plan evil for us either, His plans for us are good

Jeremiah 29 :11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of Peace and not of evil, to give you a Future and a Hope.

Hebrews 13:5-6…… He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my Helper and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Psalms 27:1 The Lord is my Light and my Salvation whome shall I fear ? The Lord is the Strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? K.J.V

    • Hello sis,
As always, this will be my another thought to ponder and to learn about. The Bible verses that you mentioned here will be my further study. Thank you very much, sis. I always got something to ponder from your thoughts. God bless you 🙂

  7. Jesus said: “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” The Word of the Lord has been very powerful in your life Karina. “For I know the thoughts I have toward you”, says the Lord, “thoughts of peace, not of evil, to give you a future and hope.” He has been you shield and your exceedingly great reward. He will be found by you when you seek for Him and search for Him with our whole heart. He is the assurance of things hoped for , and, He is the evidence of things not seen, because He is the Author and the Finisher of your faith. You shared a wonderful and anointed Word. Thank you for your post.

    • Dear brother in Christ, Thomas,
Thank you very much for visiting my blog also for the insightful response and the Bible verse on my post. “He is the assurance of thing hoped for, and He is the evidence of things not seen..” Amen and Amen…! Once again thank you for the wonderful comment 🙂 God bless you abundantly.

  9. Dear Karina,
Your sister’s song goes beautifully with your post. It’s hard to grasp that God ‘really’ cares for us whenever things seem so hopelessly messed up in us and in our world. This morning I was reading Psalm 77 — a psalm of comfort for times of distress. Verses 19-20 caught my attention. They come at the very end of the chapter, and give an answer to why it seems God is sometimes absent when we’re in distress. The verses say (in the Good News Bible), “You walked through the waves; you crossed the deep sea, but your footprints could not be seen. You led your people like a shepherd, with Moses and Aaron in charge.”

I’m grateful God is present even when it seems God may have forgotten us. Thanks so much Karina, for this encouraging meditation. I’m taking it to heart!
    Elouise

    • Dear sister Elouise,
Thank you very much for so lovely response on my post. Yes indeed God always there for us though He seems absent and silent, and actually He never forget us 🙂 Thank you for the Bible verses from the book of Psalm, sis. Many blessings to you and have a blessed week.

  10. Hi sis! How are you doing? Are you ready for Christmas yet? Sooo much to do! Hope you are doing well and the baby and husband are good. I’ll look forward to some more posts from you as soon as possible..

    Steve 🙂

    • Hello brother,
I am doing well. Right now I am on business trip to other city for around 4 days 🙂 Thank you very much for stopping by, brother. This year we will not have any special events on Christmas day. Just celebrate it at home. What about you?

  11. Thanks for this uplifting post, Karina 🙂 Indeed, this message of God’s comfort is a good reminder for the festive season or any season of sadness in life. That family’s pain was unimaginable, but God gave them—and gives us—the strength to carry on… Your sister sings beautifully! 🙂 ♥ ❤

  12. Karina, I love the message and the poem. Every morning I rise, opening my eyes or when I close my eyes to sleep it seems Gods love is always on my mind, and I always believe his eyes are on all of us. Even last week when I was being treated for a problem with my knee and leg from our family trip to Galveston, during the whole procedure, i always felt Him near. His love is never far from us, and it seem also in the same week I had torn both retina’s but when they thought they might have to do laser surgery…i knew he was near…and i did not have to have any done. The spirit of God within us will bring a perfect inner peace to blossom, when we meditate on his love. Have a wonderful Sunday dear sister and God bless you and your family!

    • Dear brother Wendell,
Thank you very much 🙂 I am glad you love what have wrote and the song lyric. Yes indeed God never far from us. He always there for us with His gentle loves and cares. I pray for your leg and knee problems. May God’s loving hand touch you and cure your knee and leg. Have a wonderful and blessed Sunday to you too, brother 🙂 God bless.

    • Dear Kayla,
First of all Thank you for asking 🙂 well you know, it was so bad. My friend jeannet died tragically with several bullets in her body. Last time I met her on September when I was holiday in Paris. I am so sad but I thought right now we separated physically but one day we will meet again in our eternal home. Kayla, Once again thank you very much for asking 🙂 God bless you abundantly.

  13. Dear Karina, thank you for sharing God’s encouragement with us. Praise God He is our help and strength in times of trial. It is hard to fathom losing all of your children, what great sorrow, but what a great God Who replaced that sorrow with triumph as they ministered to their girls in Mexico and saw many come to salvation. Thank you so much for visiting and reading my latest post on holdingforthhisword. May we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimony. Amen!

    • Dear sister Eliza..
Your are welcome 🙂 sis, Thank you very much for the deep insight on my post. I always love read your posts. Though, I barely put comment on yours but please trust me I always got and learn something something from your posts.. Thank you very much, sis and wishing you a Merry Christmas. Have a wonderful and blessed holiday season. God bless.

  14. Hi sis…just checking in on you like always. Not much news here except that we finally got a good day of rain in California! We need it so very badly out here. Hope all is going well with you. Enjoy your evening/morning! Talk with you later on…

    Steve 🙂

    • Hello bro,
Thank you very much for checking me. I really appreciate it. Weeew, It was good heard about you there. I am good too here. Start busy with my daily task in the office runs some new business project for this year..thank you and God bless you, bro 🙂

      • It is so good to hear you are good and off to a new start with projects at work, sis! In my opinion, you must know I believe in your abilities as a wife, working professional, mother, daughter, and of course a Christian.

I would like to ask a question. Do you believe that once a person is saved by God’s gift of grace, but then returns to living in sin, that he or she is still saved? I find a few from the denominational churches believe this is true.

What do you think, Karin? Just let me know when you can. Have a super evening/morning!

        Bro. Steve 🙂

        • Hello brother,
Wow, you gave me a deep and quite difficult question to answer. Here we talk about the doctrine of salvation, I thought. Well it will be long discussion but I am trying the best to answer your question as simple as I could. First I do not agree we still be saved while we are going back to the sin. Here are some Bible verses that talk about this topic:
For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.(2 Peter 2:20-21 NKJV)

“But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die.( Ezekiel 18:24 NKJV)

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (Philippians 2:12 NKJV)

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.(Matthew 7:21 NKJV)

And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ (Matthew 7:23 NKJV)

Well,I hope I am not wrong about the verses, bro. and I think it all could be the answer of your question 🙂 Thank you, bro. God Bless.

          • I appreciate such a complete answer to my question. First off, I agree with you completely! There is another scripture in Hebrews 6 which talks about this very thing.

To come to Jesus for salvation and then return to sin and still expect to be saved is very wrong! It would be like accepting a job from someone, turning around and quitting the job, but still expect to receive a paycheck!
That just isn’t the way it works…

Those who come to the Lord must be sincere about their decision and want to live to do God’s work in Christ. They must stay appreciative of what Jesus has done for them on the cross and love Him with all their heart.

If someone comes to the Lord, is baptized into His body, and then leaves that love and faith to return to the worldly ways, he or she is lost and will suffer even more so than the one who never came to God in the first place!

I am so glad to hear of your belief in the truth, sis! Many people believe they can do what they will because God forgives their sins. But He won’t forgive the person who goes on wilfully engaged in sin without repentance…

Thank you for taking the time to answer this question so well and so completely! May the Lord bless and keep you…

            Brother Steve 🙂

  15. All of us face hardships at times. When the pain is unbearable, we may feel abandoned by God. Yet He is there w/ us. That is certain. And somehow He will see us through. Thank you for this reminder, Karina. God bless you. ❤

  16. A very good article as always, Karin. And…I noticed you referenced my old website with a related article…thank you so much! You are a dear, sis, and may the love of God be upon you and yours always!
