Our Prayer

Our Prayer-Karina's Thought

Hello my dear blog friends, I am grateful to God today could come back to blogging after around a month not being active in the blog world. I have missed so much beautiful and awesome posts from all of you and later will try to take time to visit and reading your posts.

This evening I just want to share something that have touched my heart so deep. Three days after my baby was born, my mother asked me to talk privately and she gave me her diary book. She said that the diary contained her daily writing about my growth progress when I was a baby. She wrote in detail every growth that happened to me day after day. She said, “I hope you could learn something from this diary. You could know and learn how amazing seeing our baby grows. That is such a great and beautiful God’s work through us as parents. Our tiredness will be completely gone when we see our baby growing very well”

I more touched when I found a prayer written on one page of the diary. When I read it I cannot hold my tears. Then my mother said, “This is my prayer for you and now it becomes your prayer for your son, Andrew”

Dear God,

We give thanks to you for the out pouring miracle and blessing upon us for the gift a baby son that You given to us. He is a gift sent down from Heaven. This precious blessing will always remind us how big is Your love.

Our Heavenly Father, we pray and handed him into your hand. We let him life in your loving kindness, mercy, and wisdom. Please form him to be someone who always fears to God because fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. May his soft and little ears always hear and receive messages through Your Word. May his little shining eyes will see how wonderful Your creation, can see how great God’s love to this world and it will make him loves You more than anything. May his hand will be strong so one day could reach out the world with the act of kindness and do everything according Your will. May his little cute feet will walk in the way of righteousness and every step he take is always based on fear to God, everything he does is always  honor and glorify You.

God, form our child to be someone who have wisdom to know when he weak and dare to face himself when he afraid. Form him to be someone who always proud and strong when one day he has failure and losing. But make him always has humble heart when he has successful triumph and always realizes that the every victory is not just because of his own ability but from God’s grace alone.

Dear God, Make our little prince to be a man who not just hoping but also always accompanied by deeds. Lead him always in the way of ease and comfort, but if he should to be in under pressure, difficulties and challenges, let it all to be a lesson to him so he knows that life is not so easy and it all will teach him how to endure and struggle in life and will make him stronger day by day. Let him learn to remain stand up and toughen up in the midst of life storm. and when he feel alone among the darkness and hard times, he knows and realized that actually he not alone because You never leave him alone.

Our Heavenly Father, teach him to always have compassion to those who have fail, teach him to always be motivated to lend a helping hand to those who in need with pure heart without expect anything in return. May he reaching dreams as high as stars in the sky but never forget that everything he will reach is blessings and grace from You not because of his strength and capability. Let him reach the brightly future without forgetting the past. Form him to be a wise man that is able lead himself before leading others.

Dear Lord, thank you for hearing our prayer, refine this imperfect prayer and nevertheless not our will, but thine, be done. Amen

I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. (1 Samuel 1:27)

  1. Congratulations Karina, being a parent is the sweetest gift on earth. This prayer is so beautiful and powerful in the Spirit. I know your little Andrew will grow to be a strong man of God because of his parents and family. Welcome to the wonderful world of being a Mom!

  2. Many blessings Karina to you and your husband on the Birth of your son Andrew, Children are a gift from God, He created us to be able conceive and when Children are cherished and cared for with Love and patience they bring much joy to their Parents and being taught about God’s Great Love for them and instructed about His guidelines, as they grow into Adults, they also bring Joy to Him and others throughout their lives and remain faithful in their commitment to God .

To be honest with you Karina I was upset and saddened to read that you would pray that your Child would suffer, of course we pray they will have the strength and help they need when they do suffer hardship but it is not how God molds and shapes us, many turn away from God not to Him when they are afflicted, how sad that this wrong understanding is being passed on, yes I too will pray your prayer will be refined because no where in Scripture does God tell us He causes Children to suffer to teach them or even to teach us as Adults, we do indeed suffer but not by His hand.

Jesus also tells us in this world we will have Trouble but He does not say He will bring it, He tells us the opposite, that He will help us endure through what ever hardship we suffer, as we can see in the Scriptures below.

Lamentations 3: 33 For God doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”

Jeremiah 29 :11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Christian Love Always from both of us – Anne

    • Dear sis Anne,
Thank you so much for your comment and critic on my post. I really appreciate it. Well, I will try to edit it again later. Also thank you for your Bible verses. It means so much to me. Blessings to you and have a wonderful weekend 🙂

      • Please believe me Karina, I’m genuinely very happy for you and your Husband on the birth of Andrew and that all went well for you both, how very blessed you all are. I also agree with praying for Children and believe it is very important that they grow up in a Loving supportive atmosphere where they learn about God and His great Love for us, No He won’t force them to believe or change their heart so they will without them asking Him, the same with us but with the right focus they will seek Him with all their heart as we did.

A lot of your Mother’s prayer for you was good but not all, although I’m sure she prayed with the best intentions even if from her own understanding or what she had been taught.

What also upset me Karina, was you put a Like on my last Post but your Mothers prayer said the opposite, if you didn’t agree with me why didn’t you say so ? we could have than resolved our differences which God asks us to do and not just ignore them.

        Blessings – Anne.

        • Sister Anne,
Thank you so much for your response 🙂 first, I would like to say sorry have made you upset. I really do not have in mind to make you upset. I just didn’t pay attention the relation between your post and my mom’s prayer. This is will my lesson so later I have to more careful and pay more attention to every posts that I have read with mine. About my mom’s prayer, I have been told her about your suggestion and with deeply honor she was appreciate your critic and suggestion. Once again I personally say deeply sorry for you. What was happening will be my valuable lesson. Many blessings to you 🙂

      • Thank you for your understanding Karina and your Mums, yes she is a very special woman and so are you but perhaps if you read about my Childhood you would understand why I feel so grieved when People claim that God deliberately hurts us to teach us (see link below)

        Childhood – http://freedomborn.wordpress.com/2011/09/27/the-early-years-a-little-lost-girl/

At a Bible Study about 6 years ago a woman leader claimed that everything that happened to us was by God’s hand, when I shared some very bad parts of my life with her, she still said God hurt me to bring good out of it. Yes He does work everything for good in our lives even those things that hurt us but He does not willingly afflict us.

Lamentations 3: 33 For God doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

We never went back to this Bible Study but this wrong teaching has being propagated and believed for quiet a few years mainly because people don’t understand the old Hebrew but to be honest I too believed it was True until I asked and received God wisdom and His empowering through The Holy Spirit.

Thank you again Karina and blessings – Anne.

Blessings to you and your family.

  16. Hi Karina,

Welcome back. I am so happy that your child is doing well and the Lord is blessing your family. Thank you so much for sharing your mother’s prayer. It certainly was a blessing. May we all come to an understanidng of the the importance of the Lord’s refining hand in our life.

For we all know that, even during times of heartaches and struggles the Lord brings these things into our lives for our good and spritual growth. It takes a very special mother to understand this truth and to be willing to see their child go through the difficult times of life to bring them closer to the Lord and strengthened spritually.

Andrew has a very special grandmother and mother indeed! Lord bless you and your new family!
