We Glory in Tribulations (Romans 5:3)

We glory in tribulations

I dedicate this article to one of my friends who are gets so many trials in his life. This morning I take my time to share with her. This article may not solve her problems, but at least could strengthen her. I chose this verse below as a base of this article.

And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5: 3-4

When we have physically suffering or passing through a situation of great trial, we often think that there is nothing good thing that we could get from it. But Paul says we also glory in our suffering. Why we should do as Paul says? The reason is, though seems at the time we cannot see something good behind our suffering, actually something good is going to happens behind it. The suffering itself is not good but the perseverance, the experience, and the hope that spring from it is very good.

When we are no longer able to control the trials that we face, we can learn a great lesson. Be patience! Yes, we should to be patience. Whether we want or not, like it or not, we have to wait. James 5:10 said: “Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.”   We don’t get what we want immediately. But often times when the trials are finally lifted, we are able to see how God use the trials that we had, to shape our lives and even perhaps the lives of others. So, through our trials we have an experience of God’s wisdom and faithfulness. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3)

In the times of suffering we come to place great value on the promises of God. We may know the promises by memory, but they are never so full of meaning as when we claim them in our darkest hours and deepest struggles. The patience and experience we have gained from past deliverances gives us hope to trust in the Lord and in His promises. “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”(James 1:12)

God has come from our trials because we now have a greater sense our weakness and God’s strength. We have been drawn to a closer walk with Him, and His promises are not just words but a reality in our life. So With Paul we “Glory in our tribulations “

  2. Karin, you always see trials in life for what they are and that is to strengthen us in our fight against the evil one, and to increase our dependence on Christ Jesus as our Rock! May you always have faith like this!

      • For without faith it is impossible to please God…

We always look to build our faith if we are wise in the ways of our Lord! Read the bible, attend worship, pray about everything, and grow!
